Well, yeah, obviously. The warning/conflict was about old gtk3-nocsd package specifically. No idea about the new one.

It does not include gtk4-nocsd though. Which is also provided. And I just tested it and it works.

Hmm, weird search quirk. Anyway, the first point stands, gtk3-classic includes gtk-nocsd function in it.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gtk-nocsd-git Yes it does.
Hanabishi commented on 2026-06-16 07:12 (UTC)
If you have this package, you don't need gtk-nocsd in the first place. It is not present in AUR anyway, and stopped working with modern gtk3 iirc (the last commit 10 years ago).

Does this package actually conflict with nocsd anymore or is that just an old thing from past versions? Because it seems like gtk-nocsd-git doesn't have any issues with this package after it's modified.

Needs glib2-devel as dependency after https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/glib2/-/commit/02a3a726583017383d99e701327975d29ad010a6
Currently, the build fails with
gtk+-3.24.42/gdk/meson.build:147:18: ERROR: Dependency 'glib-2.0' tool variable 'glib_mkenums' contains erroneous value: '/usr/bin/glib-mkenums'
Although, I think glib2(-devel)? is a transitive dependency, so the issue might fix itself when the respective package updates its build dependencies.

Thanks for spotting the license syntax change. Updated. https://rfc.archlinux.page/0016-spdx-license-identifiers/

Why so much ambiguity in the comment, when it simply should be copied from the official gtk3 package.
